Brian Gaston

Hi, I'm Brian Gaston, a fisheries and wildlife major, in the School of Natural Resources.

I studied and interpreted wolf behavior and answered wolf and natural history questions from visitors. As part of my work with public programming, I was able to take groups out to track wolves in the area using radio telemetry. I was also able to assist in managing current wolf pack locations by tracking their movements on a map after receiving weekly radio telemetry updates. I enjoyed the opportunity to gain background and management information of the current wolf populations in the United States, while also informing the general public. As a Fisheries and Wildlife major with an option in Wildlife Ecology and Management, I was able to apply this new hands-on field work and public relations experience to future goals and careers. This internship has allowed me to expand my working knowledge of predators as I plans to pursue a graduate degree in the field of wildlife.
