Nicole Heywood

Hi, I'm Nicole Heywood and I'm a fisheries and wildlife major in the School of Natural Resources from Elkhorn, Neb.

I've always been an outdoor person and have had a strong interest in animals, so growing up I got involved in lots of activities related to animals and wildlife. One of the main ones has been working at the Henry Doorly Zoo's Safari Park near Interstate 80 between Lincoln and Omaha. I've also worked with Raptor Rehab at the Safari Park, as well as working for the Omaha Humane Society's branch for wildlife.

While studying in the School, I've found that lots of professors are very willing to socialize with you outside of class. They get to know you on field trips and club activities. I have a good working relationship with my professors. They seem very grounded.

Also, through the Wildlife Club, I've gotten to meet a lot of fellow students. We hang out together and by going on field trips, you get to know both professors and students well.

After graduation, I'm planning on going to graduate school, here probably.
