Hi, I'm Amanda Keep and I'm a fisheries and wildlife major in the School of Natural Resources from Cotesfield, Neb.
I grew up on a diversified farm, on which we grew; corn, soybeans, milo, rye, alfalfa for hay, and had a cow/calf operation. I've always enjoyed being outdoors and being involved in nature, so I chose to major in fisheries and wildlife.
I am involved in many activities on campus. I am member of the Wildlife Club, currently acting as their secretary, and I am on the Advisory Board of the College and Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources. I also have a little involvement with the Horticulture Club. While attending a community college, I got involved in the Phi Theta Kappa honor society, and am now the vice president of the campus alumni with that organization.
The professors in the natural resources majors are awesome. They really care about their students. In addition, I have had the chance to meet many people. My fellow students in the areas of natural resources are also much fun and great to be around. It's great to know people who are taking the same classes you are and have so many activities in common like Wildlife Club, where you get to learn more about your major in a fun and informal setting.
When I graduate, I'd like to work in outdoor education, where I can work with kids and teach them about wildlife and the outdoors.
