Hi, I'm Branden O'Hare and I'm a fisheries and wildlife major in the School of Natural Resources from Ainsworth, Neb.

I chose this major because when I first started, I knew what I wanted and kept getting closer and closer. When I heard about fisheries and wildlife I thought, 100 percent -- that's what I wanted to do.

And I also chose UNL because my dad and brother went here. And the fact that it's a research university makes a difference.

I'm looking forward to this summer since I get to work with Dr. Larkin Powell and the Nature Conservancy doing a study of environmental impacts on all types of things. I might not get that experience at another institution.

So far, I've been getting my general requirements out of the way. I'm looking forward to classes in wildlife management. And I'm on the School's Advisory Board.

After graduation, I'll probably go on to get a master's degree. I'd like to work privately as a wildlife biologist.
