Landon Pierce

Hi, I'm Landon Pierce and I'm a fisheries and wildlife major from Lincoln, Nebraska, in the School of Natural Resources.

I decided to major in fisheries and wildlife because I love the outdoors. I really like hunting and fishing, and have since I was a child. I decided that it was in my best interest to choose a career that I would actually enjoy, rather than choose a career because it had a high salary.

I have gotten to know my advisor Larkin Powell a little bit over the past year, and I'm looking forward to taking his classes on wildlife. He seems to be a very interesting person, and I think I'll learn a lot from his classes.

I'm excited about getting into upper level courses. In some of them, we'll actually get to experience the tasks that we'll perform in our careers. I'm particularly interested in going electroshocking for fish, which has been done in a few classes, as well as by the Wildlife Club. I'm also very interested in the Wildlife Club, but I've been unable to attend any events so far. I have helped Ecology Now with stadium recycling on occasion.

When I graduate, I hope to manage a Wildlife Management Area in either Nebraska or somewhere in the Midwest.
