R.M. (Matt) Joeckel, Director (2014-present)
Dr. Joeckel administers the Conservation and Survey Division (Nebraska Geological Survey) as State Geologist and Associate Director for Conservation and Survey in the School of Natural Resources.
He holds a B.S. and an M.S. in geology from UN-L and he also attended the University of Kansas and the University of Florida. He received his Ph.D. in geology from the University of Iowa in 1993, and engaged in coursework in soils at Iowa State University through a student exchange program. In 1994-1996, he was a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville.
