Congratulations to Pat DeStefano and Mark Mesarch, who each received the SNR Staff Recognition Award for Spring 2011, presented by Don Wilhite at the Spring Picnic on May 5, 2011.
Pat DeStefano
Pat is a purchasing specialist at the Natural Resources Business Center. Her nominators praised her consistent professionalism and “commitment to exceptional service and dedication to SNR.” To help manage a growing and increasingly complex inventory, she created a database. Even under pressure, she is always calm and friendly and maintains a sense of humor. As one said, commenting on her good attitude, “We’re all very fortunate to have her around.”
Mark Mesarch
Mark is a web database specialist at SNR who “is able to take general verbal descriptions of what people want and transform them into a functioning system.” One of his nominators said, “I always feel welcome and encouraged to present my ideas to him. He likes being challenged and he things ‘outside the box.’” He networks actively with the University’s web developers and works to keep SNR in compliance with UNL’s evolving web templates. Another nominator said, “SNR is very lucky to have an employee of Mark’s caliber working among us.”
