The focus of the work is on both vegetation canopies (to include agricultural crops, range grasses, and aquatic vegetation) and surface waters, with emphasis on obtaining biophysical information ultimately leading to meaningful practical applications.

Land Use and Land Cover Characterization

Information about the earth's land use and land cover (LULC) is required for a wide range of applications.

GIS-based Modeling and GeoComputation

Geographic Information Systems (GIS) provide not only powerful functions to store, manage, and visualize geospatial data, but also advanced analytical tools to reveal some otherwise less obvious yet significant spatial patterns and relationships between environmental variables.
