Community and Regional Planning is a field that frequently involves geographers in helping people create functional and inviting public places, balance the built and natural environments, anticipate infrastructure needs, address social issues and provide for the well-being of communities. At UNL, the Faculty of Geography and GIScience collaborates with UNL’s program in Community and Regional Planning to offer both a minor in planning (for Geography majors) and a PhD in Geography with a planning specialization.
