USBR Research Needs


The Great Plains Region of the US Bureau of Reclamation have identified the following as potential future study items, funding is not necessarily available.

Great Plains Region, US Bureau of Reclamation Research Needs

  • Continued work on determining hydrologic connection, if any, between Turquoise Reservoir and the Dinero Tunnel (Colorado)
     

  • Possible opportunities for accomplishing cooperative work related to museum property, such as accession, curation, etc.
     

  • Possible studies that examine the stream channel and floodplain areas downstream of reservoirs to estimate inundation levels at various release rates within and near the normal operating range for the reservoir.
     

  • Possible improvements to reservoir inflow forecasting models.
     

  • Possible improvements to hydrologic model inputs specific to our Projects such as estimates of reservoir evaporation and/or evapotranspiration.
     

  • Survey of listed feline (ocelot and jaguarundi) occupation in habitat present at Choke Canyon Reservoir (Texas)
