Abstract:
Develop
and finalize a trail guidebook for the “Colorado On the Move”
project, in conjunction with the Colorado BLM State Office and
Colorado State Parks. The Colorado on the Move project is an
easy program to help increase the levels of physical activity
and enjoy the many benefits of better health. This program
simply increases the number of steps in your day by encouraging
and providing access to hiking and walking trail information to
the public. To date, a partnership has developed between the
Center for Human Nutrition-University of Colorado Health
Sciences Center, Rocky Mountain Health Foundation, and Colorado
State Parks to assist in promoting “Colorado on the Move”. The
completed guidebook will provide maps of suitable trails as well
as a description of the trails and the surrounding areas. All
collected data (trail elements, information) will be converted
to a digital format and imported, analyzed, and managed within a
GIS context.
