Abstract: Knife River Indian Villages national Historic
Site is in need of a comprehensive prairie management plan for
all grasslands located on the site. The plan will require
an evaluation of all resources of KNRI's grassland areas.
The evaluation will include, but is not limited to;
identification of soils, identification of existing botanical
structure, past history of botanical structure, and how past
land-use has altered botanical structure (e.g. grazing and
cropping). Also, possible tools will be identified to
KNRI's goal of prairie restoration (e.g. reseeding, grazing,
fire, etc.)
