Continue Development of GIS data for the TEAM Leafy Spurge Project Area

Dr. Bradley Rundquist
Department of Geography
University of North Dakota

Abstract: Over the last three years, GIS base data have been developed for the Little Missouri River drainage basin to support the technology transfer component of the TEAM Leafy Spurge Project (TLS) funded through USDA-ARS. This project will continue the development of GIS base data through September 28, 2001. Primary responsibilities of the project include: identifying and acquiring available base data; contacting federal, state and local land management agencies within the project area to solicit data relative to leafy spurge (Euphorbia esula) infestations and biological/chemical control areas; editing data to create topographically correct, seamless coverages organized by county; maintaining FGDC compliant metadata for all coverages; providing map products; providing end of project CD-ROM products containing all coverages, metadata, and associated files for distribution to all TLS participating agencies.

Existing GIS data are resident at the Theodore Roosevelt National Park GIS Lab in Medora, ND. A copy of these data including file descriptions and FGDC metadata files will be provided to the CESU on CD-ROM. Supplemental paper documents will also be provided to the CESU.
