Development of Visitor Travel Cost Methodology

Abstract:  This task order provides for a cooperative effort between the identified parties to develop an individual observation travel cost methodology suitable for analyzing BLM visitor data to determine the recreational values on public lands in Wyoming.  With concurrence with OMB, preliminary estimates of the net economic value of visitors to 21 BLM sites using visitor trip data previously collected by BLM.  To the extent possible, extrapolate the results of net economic value estimates and net willingness to pay for these 21 sites to estimate the national economic value and net willingness to pay for recreation on all BLM lands.
