Shipwrecks and Related Sites between Ft. Randall, South Dakota and Sioux City, Iowa – Missouri River

Abstract: Approximately, 60 historic steamboat wrecks are believed to have occurred on the Missouri River in South Dakota and Iowa. This proposal would produce a report based on information from printed sources including historic newspaper accounts, a number of shipwreck databases, and several key archival sources to pinpoint potential sites of wrecks within the Missouri National Recreation River.
