Several SNR faculty and collaborating faculty from other departments are also active in regional, national, and international projects in the field of human dimensions. All of the following centers create many regional, national, and international opportunities for research dealing with the human dimensions of natural resources.
Center for Advanced Land Management Information Technologies
The Center for Advanced Land Management Information Technologies is recognized as a center-of-excellence for education and research focused on Remote Sensing, Geographic Information Systems, and Global Positioning Systems.
Water Center
The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Water Center implements and facilitates water and water-related research, extension, teaching and public outreach programming within the University of Nebraska system as a part of NU's Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources and the School of Natural Resources.
National Drought Mitigation Center
The National Drought Mitigation Center helps people and institutions develop and implement measures to reduce societal vulnerability to drought.
Center for Great Plains Studies
The Center for Great Plains Studies is an interdisciplinary, intercollegiate, regional research and teaching program chartered in 1976 by the University of Nebraska Board of Regents and administered in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Center for Applied Rural Innovation
This interdisciplinary center offers programming and research in the area of economic and community development and sustainable agriculture.
Public Policy Center
The University of Nebraska Public Policy Center focuses on five areas of public policy: Behavioral health services and systems, Access to governmental services, Information technology in health and human services, Public participation in policy, Water resource policy.
