Program Sponsor
Resilience and Adaptive Governance in Stressed Watersheds began in 2009 and principally funded by a five-year grant from the National Science Foundation through their Integrated Graduate Education and Research Training (IGERT) program.
Initiated in 1997, the IGERT program is sponsored by the National Science Foundation. Currently the program is comprised of about 125 award sites.
The IGERT program was developed to meet the challenges of educating U.S. Ph.D. scientists, engineers, and educators with the interdisciplinary backgrounds, deep knowledge in chosen disciplines, and technical, professional, and personal skills to become in their own careers the leaders and creative agents for change.
The program is interested in funding projects that will drive a cultural change in graduate education, develop novel, new models for graduate education, and provide training in an environment of collaborative research that cuts across disciplines.
Additional support is provided by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and external partners.
