SHIPPING SAMPLES
Note: samples considered dangerous goods must be taken directly to UNL Mail & Distribution at 17 & Y Streets for shipping by 11 a.m. Follow all guidelines below. Have samples in the box, ready to ship, but not sealed. Bring a shipping label with you.
The guidelines are expected to change January 2009.
TRAINING
Training for NE Coop Unit staff and students is required by both US DOI and UNL. Copies of training certifications must be given to your supervisor, Caryl or Valerie.
University of Nebraska-Lincoln
UNL courses required for all UNL staff and faculty can be found at http://ehs.unl.edu/onlinetraining/
Required for everyone are:
1. Core-Injury and Illness Prevention Plan (IIPP) and
2. Core- Emergency Preparedness Training.
US Department of the Interior
US DOI requires that all staff and students working for a Cooperative Research Unit complete the following training through DOI Learn. New users will need to request a user name and password which can take several weeks. Follow these instructions for completing the required courses:
- Safety: DOI Safety and Occupational Health Overview (course code: 1342) (duration: 30 min)
- Safety: Authorities, Roles, and Responsibilities (course code: 1338) (duration: 2 hr)
- Safety: USGS Safety and Occupational Health Program Overview (course code: 1315) (duration: 1 hr 30 min)
- Safety: USGS Safety Program Requirements (course code: 1300) (duration: 1 hr)
- NSC Defensive Driving II (course code: 1501) (duration: 3-4 hr)
