The people at the School of Natural Resources who had the good luck to work with sophomore Fisheries & Wildlife major Brian Smith extend deepest sympathies to his family and friends, and share their grief.

Brian, who was in good health, died of unknown causes on Saturday, March 15, during an SNR course in Puerto Rico led by Dr. Larkin Powell. "Brian loved the outdoors and he was a very good student,” Powell said.

Funeral services were held March 26, in Omaha, Nebraska.

He was on the Dean’s List of the College of Arts and Sciences and was a 2006 graduate of Creighton Prep.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Brian M. Smith Memorial Scholarship Fund, which will establish scholarships at Creighton Prep and at the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources.
