WELCOME TO THE NEBRASKA RIVER OTTER TELEMETRY PROJECT

The Nebraska Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit with the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission are in the second year of a project with the objective of collecting home range and habitat use information on river otters along the big bend area of the Platte River using radio-telemetry. River otters had vanished from Nebraska by the early 1900’s but were reintroduced with the help of trappers in states like Louisiana that had high numbers of river otters.
