Our lab began examining pollen from honeys in the fall of 2014. Building on the work of others, we differentially processed honeys to develop our own melissopalynological methods. The work from these studies has yielded interesting preliminary data that will soon be submitted for publication. As we continue to process local honeys, we will begin to build a palynological database of Nebraska honey compositions that will be useful for local beekeepers. Additionally, we plan to develop melissopalynological services for local apiculturalists that will be available for purchase in the future.
