Spring Affair Newsletter 2011

PLANT LISTS: In the newsletter plant list, every species is listed, along with the number of cultivars available.
2011 Plant list pdf shows every cultivar.
2011 plant list excel file allows users to save the file and sort it by any field or category.
Bloom height is in inches unless noted; varies by site.
Exposure (sun, part sun, shade) is not rigid; check the plant label.
All plants are perennial unless noted (TP = temperennial).
Zone 6 plants are identified.

FREE ADMITTANCE. The plants, purchased from Bluebird Nursery Inc., are selected for their hardiness in Nebraska and for their past popularity. More than 1,000 different varieties of plants will be available. In addition, vendors selling garden art, sculpture, birdhouses and other items will be on hand. For the 2011 sale, plants ranged in cost from $3-$10 depending on pot size; with large specimens or rare specialty plants priced slightly higher. Credit cards accepted.
The 25th Annual Spring Affair again will feature plants, programs and demonstrations to help you learn about updating your garden spaces. This event is free and open to the public.

SPRING AFFAIR PREVIEW PARTY
The preview party will be Friday night, April 22. It offers gardening enthusiasts the opportunity to "preview" and purchase plants before Saturday's sale. It also includes a dinner, music, door prizes and a silent auction. The Preview Party is sponsored by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Garden Friends. Tickets must be purchased in advance. It is always decorated according the theme of Spring Affair.
