The collection, curation, and preservation of geological samples is an on-going process at the CSD Geological Sample Repository. Samples are continuously being identified, organized, inventoried, preservation assessed, and databases compiled in an effort to provide an accurate and efficient means to access geological sample information.
The Conservation and Survey Division has been awarded matching funds through the National Geological and Geophysical Data Preservation Program (NGGDPP), administered by the United States Geological Survey (USGS), to inventory and develop an online database for the Oil & Gas Collection. Oil & Gas data is currently being provided by the Nebraska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission website until the CSD Geological Sample Repository Oil & Gas Collection Database is complete.
