Several different types of radiometers are used in our field research. For each radiometer we describe it's basic mode of operation, methods of calibration and the current wavelengths characteristics of the instrument.
When used in field measurements with the sun as the light source, a reference panel is used to measure the incoming radiant energy since these radiometers have a limited field of view (FOV). These reference panels are non-Lambertain so a description of the procedure necessary to correct the panel properties and the current correction coefficients are given.
This site is NOT an exhaustive review of instrumentation currently and previously
available for research and teaching, but touches on instrumentation used in projects at the School of Natural Resources (SNR) at UNL.
SNR and UNL neither guarantee nor warrant the standard of products described in these pages and the use of the name implies no approval of the product to the exclusion of others that may also be suitable.
