The classic bungalow. Arts and Craft design interior. Lots of big windows and oak woodwork. Wood floors. Always a lot to do. Always home.
Spent the summer of 1998 scrapping and painting the house. Was tired of the pale yellow and brown color scheme that I saw everywhere. So I had an architect friend help me pick out period colors with the current 3 palette style. Changed to forest green, burnt red and pale blue grey. But I made the mistake of painting the porch roof red. Yikes. Major dressing down for that mistake. Porch roofs are to be sky blue so when you sit on the porch swing and look up, you think you are seeing the sky. Makes sense.
In the fall of 2005, I took the big plunge and had the house jacked up and new basement walls, foundation and floor put in. Cost me a pretty penny. But also added a laundry, bathroom and design for living space in the basement. Its so amazing what a new space does.
