Vacations
Since I have a separate section for bicycling, you can see that is one of my favorite types of vacations. But camping and backpacking are one of my other favorite ways to relax.
I have had the opportunity to vist many National Parks, but I think I can safely say that my favorite beyond all measure is Grand Teton National Park near Jackson WY. The majesty. The ruggidnous. The beauty. The serenity. I have been there three times on week-long back country trips and it never feels the same. I am definitely a mountain person rather than the desert. Even the Gualoupe Mountains cannot hold a candle to mountains in the Rockies and Sierras.
I have also taken three trips to Scotland and seen many different regions. Hiking along cliffs is spectacular and exhilorating. Hitting some of the highest munros gives you credit with the locals. Of course a good beer/stout or single malt is always welcome.
