Youth Summit 2016
On January 28, 2016, a Youth Summit on Climate Change was held at the Nebraska State Capitol to discuss the science of climate change and its implications for Nebraska. This Summit was a follow-on event to the eight sector-based roundtables on climate change that were organized by the University of Nebraska in September and October of 2015. The Summit was organized by Senator Ken Haar and his staff, along with a number of youth leaders and representatives from the University of Nebraska. Over 65 youth, ages 15-25, from around the state participated in this event and were exposed to techniques to become activist on climate change as it is their future.
