My Story
Humans are increasingly expanding into areas where many carnivore species are present, and scientists need to plan and design conservation strategies aimed to protect sensitive species, as well as creating mitigation plans that may help humans coexist with tolerant carnivore species. My research focuses on the need to understand how human activities are affecting carnivores to help species recover from the effects of anthropogenic pressures. My dissertation is titled Impacts of Anthropogenic Pressures on Ocelots (Leopardus pardalis) in the Maya Biosphere Reserve in Guatemala.
