Soils & Landscapes
The Conservation and Survey Division (CSD) has been a partner in the National Cooperative Soil Survey, led by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), since its inception. CSD continues to study, interpret, evaluate, and map soils and landscapes in Nebraska. Soil studies focus on soil texture, classification, formation, structure, properties, landscape relationships, mapping, and morphology. Maps and reports are valuable resources for farmers, ranchers, appraisers, architects, assessors, community planners, realtors, engineers, hydrologists, irrigators, land and watershed managers, ecologists, educators, scientists and researchers.
