My Story
I am a Master's Student in the Sonsthagen Lab. I am originally from Arizona and grew up hiking and camping in the mountains, which inspired my career as a biologist. In the past I have worked with elk, New Mexico Jumping Mice, prairie dogs, and wolves. I am especially interested in conservation genetics and spatial ecology. My current project is focused on understanding patterns of genetic variation in Greater Prairie Chickens across Kansas and Nebraska. This includes answering questions about landscape connectivity and gene flow between populations of the Greater Prairie Chicken. I love traveling and being outside so I am excited to explore more of Nebraska and Kansas while doing field work. In my free time I enjoy almost any outdoors activity. Some of my favorites are birding, hiking, backpacking, and biking. Fun fact about me: I have birded in four countries and my current favorite bird is the Snowy Owl.
