At the School of Natural Resources, our mission is to champion the natural world. Our Spring Banquet is designed to engage with alumni and partners who help us accomplish that mission, connect our students to potential employers, and celebrate the success of faculty, staff, students, and alumni. Our student clubs and organizations help plan and carry out the banquet. Please join us!

When/Where: April 6, 2024, 5:00 - 8:30 pm (networking hour), 6:30 pm (dinner); Nebraska East Campus Union’s Great Plains Room, East Campus UNL

Attire: Business Casual

Participating Student Organizations: SNR Graduate Student Association, Herpetology Club, Range Management Club, Soil Judging Team, Wildlife Club


Ticket sales are driven by student clubs. Each club has a code that you can use to direct a portion of your purchase directly to the student organization. Ticket sales end March 25, 2024. Tickets will NOT be sold at the door.


Your organization can support the banquet and reduce the price of student tickets through a table sponsorship. Each of our three levels of sponsorship receives 8 tickets for members of your organization to attend to network with our students!

The School is proud of our faculty, staff, students, and alumni. Our program will include the opportunity to celebrate their successes. Please nominate deserving applicants! Nominations for all awards are due March 8, 2024 at 5 pm.

Undergraduate Student Student clubs nominate their members for internal awards through their own processes.
Graduate Student Meritorious Graduate Student Award: The SNR Graduate Committee conducts the nomination process for the award each spring.
Staff Staff Recognition Award: SNR Staff Advisory and Professional Development Committee (SAPDC) is charged with coordinating the SNR Staff Recognition Award. The spring award will be presented.
Faculty Faculty nominees may be of any category including lecturer (excluding for the Postdoctoral Excellence award) and must have a portion of their appointment in the School.
Faculty Inspiration Award: A student nominated award to recognize faculty who inspire students.
Postdoctoral Excellence Award
Early Career Faculty Award: Nominees must be in the first 6 years of their career at UNL.
Extended Service Faculty Award: Recognizes faculty who have impacted the School's mission over a longer period of time.
Alumni Nominate alumni from degree programs of the School of Natural Resources for the following awards:
Early Career Excellence Alumni Award: Recognizes alums that are ~10 years or less from their UNL graduation.
Distinguished Service Alumni Award: Recognizes alums who have established a robust record of service in their profession.
