My Story
I am a M.S. student in the Nebraska Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit. I am primarily interested in native species conservation, with a special consideration for native non-game species. My work here is focused on stream fishes of greatest conservation need in the sandhills ecoregion of Nebraska.
Prior to coming to Nebraska, I received my B.S. in Wildlife and Fisheries Biology and Management (Aquatics emphasis) from the University of Wyoming. Following the completion of my undergraduate degree, I began working with Dr. Annika Walters in the Wyoming Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit as an Assistant Research Scientist. Here, I had the opportunity to complete a project looking at the statewide distribution of Wyoming’s crayfish species and also had the opportunity to assist a PhD student with their research looking at climate refugia for native fishes of Wyoming and Montana. When I am not working on classes or my research, I enjoy to go hunting, fishing, or playing with my dog Barley.
