My Story

Hi, I’m the Coordinator for the Nebraska Invasive Species Council, or NISC. In addition, I’m working on a Master of Science degree in Natural Resources Sciences under Dr. Tala Awada. My thesis research is focused on vegetation recovery in the Nebraska National Forest after the Bovee Wildfire of October 2022.

Prior to joining SNR, I worked as an interpretative park ranger for the National Park Service in Omaha, NE and with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services as an Immigration Services Officer and as part of the Los Angeles Asylum Office. After graduating college, I spent several years working abroad, first at a university in Queretaro, Mexico and then as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Indramayu, Indonesia.

In my free time, I enjoy crafting ceramics, latch hooking, thrifting, baking and cooking, kayaking, hiking, swimming, and traveling to new places when I can. I am an Orange County, California native, so I’ve enjoyed experiencing all the unique small towns and attractions that Nebraska and the Midwest have to offer.
