My Story
I am a Drought Social Science Associate with the National Drought Mitigation Center, and I will be supporting research efforts here at NDMC. My past research explored gender equity and Latin American women’s experience in STEM fields. I have experience working as a program coordinator for community gardening and literacy nonprofits. I strive to contribute to more equitable and inclusive communities and spaces.
I grew up in Southern California and moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where I completed bachelor’s degrees in International Studies and Spanish and a master’s degree in Latin American Studies. My master's program was interdisciplinary, and I took courses in geography, environmental studies, community and regional planning, anthropology, and history.
In my free time, I love to cook colorful meals, to go on walks and explore nature, and to create art.
