Every Husker deserves to eat!

Food at the Husker Food Pantry
Husker Food Pantry

Nearly 1 in 3 Husker students experiences food insecurity. The Husker Pantry helps address the needs of students enrolled at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in a friendly and welcoming space. They provide free food and personal items, educate the campus community and work to reduce the stigma around food insecurity. In need of a tube of toothpaste, a can of soup or a jug of laundry detergent, they are there to serve our fellow Huskers.

The Husker Pantry supports hundreds of students each semester who may be struggling to afford groceries, toiletries, or cleaning supplies. Through two on-campus locations (City and East Campus) and online ordering, the pantry helps students focus on their education rather than worrying about where their next meal will come from. The Husker Pantry operates as a “choice” pantry, allowing students to select the items that best fit their personal needs and preferences. This model not only provides flexibility but also ensures that students maintain a sense of dignity and autonomy.

Your donations directly support this mission; every can of soup, box of cereal, or bottle of shampoo helps a fellow Husker in need. The pantry relies on contributions from the UNL and Lincoln community to stay stocked. They accept unopened and unexpired items. Here are some of the most-needed items:

  • Canned fruits, vegetables, soups, and beans
  • Pasta, rice, and boxed meals
  • Peanut butter and other protein-rich foods
  • Granola bars and snacks
  • Shampoo, soap, deodorant, and toothpaste
  • Laundry detergent and paper products
