My Story

Hi, my name is Brooke and I’m the Retention and Recruiting Coordinator for the School of Natural Resources Graduate Programs at UNL. In my position, I help coordinate graduate students in SNR and assist with any questions or support they may need. Please feel free to stop by my office anytime.

I was born and raised in Nebraska, growing up in Omaha. From UNL, I earned my B.S. in Fisheries and Wildlife, B.A. in Classical Studies and M.S. in Human Dimensions of Natural Resources. As you can tell, I’m a big fan of the university and you’ll love the people you meet here.

My background is a bit unique and varied, following whenever curiosity takes me. I’ve conducted research with cichlids and swordtails, climate models, water education across K-12, Women Environmental Leaders and curiosity. I’ve worked on the Tern and Plover Conservation Partnership, with the Nebraska Water Leaders Academy, and love helping with large events around campus.

Travel is a big part of my life which has taken me to Africa, Greece, Brazil, Australia, Mexico, and many other incredible places. I enjoy bird watching, event planning, reading, hiking, baking, trying out new breweries/wineries, and most of all spending time with my dog Archie.
