My Story
As a Nebraska native and first-generation college graduate, Lindsey Chizinski brings a deep-rooted connection to the natural world into her role at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's School of Natural Resources. After completing undergraduate and graduate degrees at UNL, she has come full circle as a lecturer who specializes in ecology and environmental education. In her management of the Aquatic Biodiversity and Conservation (ABC) Lab, Lindsey advances critical research on Nebraska's fish species and freshwater ecosystems while providing invaluable hands-on research opportunities for undergraduate students.
Lindsey's teaching philosophy centers on experiential learning, bringing ecological concepts to life through courses in ecology, ichthyology, and environmental education. Her commitment to immersive education extends beyond the traditional classroom through study abroad experiences and mentorship of student research projects. Drawing from her own non-traditional path to academia, she is dedicated to supporting and empowering the next generation of natural resource professionals as champions of the natural world.
